What is Ontri you ask?? Ontri is a wonderful site that links you with other fitness peeps doing triathlons, marathons, and what not. It allows a member (free to join) to log their workouts/nutrition, connect with trainers, network with other fitness freaks. It also has healthy recipes, links for upcoming races in your area, and more. This is DEFINITELY going to help. I actually just updated my profile and logged my first workout (well, the first that Ontri will see anyhow.) Which of course, was not one of my best (due to a siting of a turkey-no lie, the tiring of the Bruts, and the extreme sunshine, which I need to become more acquainted with.)

For all of you who have not heard or may be thinking..where is Shtinky? Well, Brenna has flown off to Guam for a month to do some “work.” So I am not too worried about her health progress. I assume she will be eating yummy protein (seafood) and will be getting her swim on in the tropical waters. As for me. Bike is DEF getting fixed tomorrow.

Next week I am planning on conquering Martin Luther King Drive (and documenting it with plenty of pics.) Also, I will hopefully head out to the beach to get some free  swim time.

Also, I am sad to announce that pictures from awhile back (ice skating with proud supporters of our blog aka awesome friends of mine, neti pot ones, special k, and more..were deleted by accident while on vaca in the Outer banks the other week:(

Thank you for reading!!!! Awesome pics and swag (awesome tee shirts made by the finest tee shirt company in town (“The Cleveland Print Shop”) will be arriving soon.

So it is June 9th???

Alright, so I just viewed this blog..April 9th was the last time we blogged?!!!! :0 NOT OKAY. So here is the deal..Brenna and I have a LOT to do. We have the remainder of this month, July, and almot all of August to jazz it up and do some random/healthy/fun and entertaining activities, which we will then proceed to blog about. Hence, the purpose of this blog.

A Quick update: Brenna has been involved in Weight Watchers (an awesome program) and has been sweating it up doing all kinds of yoga, hitting up the gym, and plenty of other exercise related things in DC. I have been running..and NEED to go swimming/biking. I am in the process of getting my bike fixed up..and am about to get a pool pass. So all will be in order. As far as my running…I have the fun Nike Ipod chip that lets me know my distance, my mile per minute, how many calories I burn, etc. TIGER WOODS came on and congratulated me for running my fastest distance…Around 8/9 minutes per mile! And then Joan something or other (no disrespect Joan) came on just the other day and told me I ran my longest distance thus far -3 miles…AND I could have kept going. I feel like once I reached my 2/3 mile mark I can just keep going and coast along. Distance running may be my calling..plus the endorphins aren’t too shabby either:)  It makes me really happy to know how far I have come. During the first month of Americorps (October 2008? or 2007..ehh I can’t remember..anywho) when we had physical training I think I was in the second to last group for the slowest runners..I ran around 15 minutes per mile!! I could also barely do the mile and a half that we were required to complete.

Anyways, rambling aside. Here is what is going to go down. More fun activities………….Some of which will include:

1) running in the sand (barefoot running)-Did you know they now sell shoes that are practically rubber socks? Apparently it is better for your feet to go barefoot..more on this later…

2) Running/biking on bridges……is a great way to view your cities skyline…take in some scenic views (ie. Lake Erie) Also, some great pics could be snapped during these times

3) completing health fitness trails..I know they have TONS in DC and I would like to complete ones by the lake, as well.

4) perhaps something camping related….hiking

5)Which, leads me on to this one…exploring different hiking paths in different metroparks

6) Salsa dancing?

These are just a few….and we still need more suggestions………….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lastly, The DC RED CROSS and the CLEVELAND FREE CLINIC need some love..so we will figure out how to do just that. More to come!! So please read..and help us make this a last few great months!!
